The WWE Network livestream schedule just underwent its standard end-of-week update, and it appears that 3 new “shows” are now set to debut on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday! These are simply listed as “Marquee Matches”. As you may have guessed, however, calling this programming new seems to be quite a stretch. The descriptions for each suggests that they are merely matches presented in their entirety and given an official title. In this case, the “marquee matches” set to be showcased are the 1992, 2008 and 2018 Royal Rumble matches respectively. Not only will each get a premiere showing, but all 3 will be repeated in marathon blocks leading into the Greatest Royal Rumble event next Friday.
It should be noted that these “shows” may not even be added on-demand after airing and could well just be given the aforementioned livestream replays. After all, there’s no actual content that isn’t already on the WWE Network involved here. Then again, this could be the beginning of an attempt to showcase more memorable bouts on the live channel without having to replay an entire pay-per-view. Only time will tell in this case.
Of course, we’ll be sure to let you know if any of these 3 make it to the VOD section in the coming days.
